  • 150 GXL Indicator Flash

Odd question, can you set the indicators to flash 3 times when you half press the indicator? I noticed this is a "feature" on the Kluger Grande i test drove, as well as the commodores at work. not a big thing but i thought it would be standard?

If it is an option that can be set, don't bother. It can be helpful but it can also be a pain in the proverbial.

I've got the "customizing" guide from the service manual for the Aug 2013+ 150 series and it isn't listed as something that can be changed.

Customising - what else can we mess with?

There's a pretty long list of things, most of which seem useless to me. Some things that might interest people below. I'm going to try and gett the ones with asterisks changed at our first service.

          Wireless door lock
          - only unlock drivers door with remote on first press, twice for all
          - auto-relock time if you unlock but don't open a door
          * beep when you wireless lock/unlock
          - wireless buzzer beep volume

          Power Windows
          * close windows using wireless key (2nd press?)
          * open windows using wireless key (2nd press?)
          - enable/disable "auto" mode for each window

          Illuminated Entry
          - how long the lights stay on before fading
          - lots of other things

          Air Conditioning
          - fudge factor for temp sensor (shifts from -2 to +2C)
          * automatically turn on recirc mode when A/C turned on (annoying!!!)

          Door locks
          - lots of auto locking stuff

          Keyless Entry
          * can the ignition key be anywhere in the car (default) or does it have to be in the front?

I could have sworn there was something somewhere to disable the stupid buzzer when the driver's door is open but I don't seem to have saved that page and I don't feel like paying again quite yet... perhaps once I get my Techstream programmer!

Why? You need fresh air regularly too. Let the Auto Climate cycle between fresh and re-circ depending on the difference between the outside air and inside. It only operates when there is a large difference to reduce the strain on the system, or you can manually select it if you in a dusty area to reduce dust ingestion.

Otherwise leaving it on just makes the air in the cabin stale and slightly noxious, especially in traffic as it will slowly accumulate CO1 as apposed to passing it through.

I hope you not one of these people that either:

            A) have the A/C on vent only and end up with condensation on the outside of the front windshield ( I still laugh the amount of times I see people doing this, although its entertaining to see the variety of patterns modern HVAC systems leave on the windshield these days)
            B) Turn the a/c off when you use the heater, I can not believe how so many people think a/c is for cooling only. Its there to dry the air, cooling is a buy product but not a necessary one, hot dry air keeps the windows clear in the wet and it much more comfortable that hot humid air )mobile green house anyone?)

These need to be done with techstream or other compatible scan tool. This is done by accessing the BCM via the OBD2 plug.

                    Hi Peter.
I like many others hate the entirely pointless open door alarm.

I wrote to Toyota and told them what a bloody annoying piece of crap the alarm is.

I know the door is open, I opened it duhh.

Anyway to answer your question, Toyota can disable the alarm but at the loss of 'auto off' function of your headlights when you open your door.

It was one of the first things I wanted done.

As I am in the South West of WA I always drive with my lights on so that others might take notice that I'm on the road and I would prefer that you took steps to avoid me.

However, I was told that I would loose the auto off function so put up with the door alarm rather than experience a flat battery.

Incidentally, PP has a post that shows you pictorially how to disable the alarm yourself by pulling the dash panel out and on the back there is a small speaker and while the door is open and the alarm is going off, gently insert a short screw into the middle of it until it ceases to annoy. Silence is Golden.

                    Hope this helps mate.

                    Graeme

Only way to know for certain is to try, different programs have different capabilities with different vehicles
