285/70/R17 tyres

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I can't find a definite yes or no on any threads

I have a 2012 Prado GXL which has had a 2 inch lift, will 285/70/R17 tyres on 17 x 8 rims with +25 offset fit onto my car without any scrubbing or rubbing???

you will get scrubbing / rubbing, you need to change your upper control arms and different offset rims, +14 - +10 will work fine.

I have a 2012 Prado GXL with a 2 inch lift and 265/70/R17 Mickey Thompson ATZ tyres on 17 x 8 rims with no problems.

Bridgestone list their 265/70/R17 tyres at 804mm diameter, 285/65/R17 at 802mm diameter and 285/70/R17 at 832mm diameter.

I'm guessing the 285/65/R17 would be a better chance of fitting than the 285/70/R17 and they have similar load and speed ratings.

Does anyone have 285/65/R17 tyres fitted?

I would think that the 285/65 would rub with standard rims, the 275/65s are close and 275/65s on 120 wheels touch.

I run 285/70 r17 Cooper STTs with a 2 inch lift. My wheels have a +6 offset with these there is plenty of room between the tyre and the upper control arm. Initially the tyres rubbed the mud guards but a bit of work with a heat gun fixed that.

Dreamer didn't state what offset his wheels are. That bit is important.

Sorry, my mistake, my wheels are not 17 x 8. They are standard Prado 150 GXL alloys: 17 x 7.5 with a 25mm positive offset.

I have a 2" lift and tried my brothers 285/70 17 x 8 with a - 13 offset.

the wheel sat too far out past the guards and i had a bit of rubbing on my mudflap.
I think a +6 or 0 offset is the way to go
