  • Removing Cargo Area Rearmost Floor Panel

Can anyone tell me how to removed the rearmost flow panel in the cargo area of my 2014 Prado GXL. There are ring pull type tie down points at each corner which need to be removed first but I dont know how to. Can anyone advise please.

You need to carefully prise the plastic cover off. It just clips in from memory. That exposed an M8 bolt so 12mm or 13mm AF (across the flats).

Any update nanbar? I'm interested as I think removing this panel will allow me to clean under the third row seats properly.

Sorry I think they are M10s not M8s so 15mm AF.

Did my seats yesterday. They are 10mm bolts. The whole back seat assembly can be removed with 10 and 14mm sockets. I actually had to do it twice and I losy my keys somewhere under the seats and had to pull them all out again.

I got the plastic clip off which exposes the 10mm bolt. Got the bolt undone and removed the tie down assembly. Floor panel didn't want to come out and I was too scared to force it given the thing only has 1,400km on it. Apparantly its held down my trim plugs like on door panels??? For now, I bolted the cargo barrier straps to the same bolt that holds the tie down assembly down. I don't need the full load rating of the barrier, just need it to keep the crazy mut out of the passenger area.

Floor panel comes off easy as. Once you take the tie down brackets off, using your finger in the hole gently pull up and the panel unclips.
