Hi All - I've just taken on a 2012 Prado GX and I'm loving it: luxury after my old 'Cruiser. I have a question about the operation of the stock audio head unit, a PZQ60-00511.
I've noticed that when playing audio from a USB stick via the USB port on the front of the unit, playback always restarts at the very beginning of the track list on every vehicle restart.
If I power the unit down via the front panel PWR swtich whilst playing a track and then turn it on again, USB playback will resume at the track which was playing when the unit was turned off. Perfect! But if I turn the vehicle ignition off and then restart it, when the headunit powers up, it re-reads the USB stick file structure (which takes a while) and then starts playing the very first track on the playlist, not the one I was listening to when I stopped. Seems like a vehicle restart causes USB playback to re-initialise every time.
This is a nuisance, but it could be normal operation for the USB playback function on this particular stock unit. Anyone able to confirm this?
I'm looking for an excuse to upgrade the sound system and add GPS, so this might tip the balance if it's not fixable
Thanks for any info...
Cheers,
John
