Re: Picture review of 150 GXL features

Greetings - Enjoyed reading the post. Wondering what you think of the suspension... I have a 2010 VXL and I have questions about the ride but no other owners to compare with. I have listed comments on a blog at myprado.com let me know if you have similar thoughts. Appreciate it!

Hi Casniki. I read your blog and it was an interesting read. I have the Kakadu, so i'm not sure if there's a difference with the suspension set up, but it appears we have much the same features. My previous vehicle was a Jeep JK Wrangler, so I definitely know your woes with uncomfortable suspension. Since moving to the Kakadu, I've got to say its a dream compared to the Jeep. I know its comparing apples with oranges here, but perhaps you can start a new thread specifically on your issues and we can all compare? Looking at the pics of your blog, at first glance it looks quite a bit lower than my Kakadu. If you start a new thread I can post some pics up of my Kakadu for comparison, perhaps your issue is isolated to your suspension?

Hi Casniki, great blog. You mention about the rear glass sliding up and down in the rear door, as in an electric window? Is this option the same in Aus models?

The stereo is mounted as part of the dash structure - much like many newer cars - however the display panel at the top looks exactly double din sized and would be just the right height for this. This is where the genuine unit is mounted in VX and Kakadu

Give it time and there will be a heap of aftermarket options to replace the stero and dash gps with a DigiOptions type unit that supports the side, front and rear cameras

Thanks I think it is probably the same as Aus models - just a button in the left hand corner where you can open the window. I added some pictures at myprado.com/pictures.html if you would like to see it.

I started a thread as you suggested - I received my Prado back from the shop today - Toyota reprogrammed the computer and it seems a bit better but it is subjective at best. I did notice at the grocery store as bags were being loaded the compressor come on and the back end started lifting up so something is working I am also moving to this vehicle from something different (Range Rover) so once again it might be just having to get used to something completely different. On another note are you able to adjust your headlight level? I am not able to on mine although it is the full option model here (Middle East). I am wondering if it has something to do with the tracking headlights turning on corners??

Sounds like you're at least getting somewhere now Casniki, hope it all works out eventually. Do they have another Prado, same spec, that you could test drive and compare? Regarding headlight adjustment, yes I can - there's a switch to the right hand side of the steering wheel that allows you to move the headlights up/down. I haven't tested the feature where the headlights adjust themselves left to right as you turn corners yet though. Over here the fully spec'd model is the "Kakadu", we also hav ea VX but i'm not sure how they differ between the mid east/australia. I don't think we have any models with the opening rear glass, it looks quite nice and handy - however where is the spare wheel on yours?

Mojotec, The spare tire on the model here takes the place of where the extended tank would be (models here sell with an extended tank option when tire is mounted on back). On the headlight adjustment I have the the switch blank along side the steering wheel just no switch  Try turning your steering wheel and see if lights track - really easy to see. Unfortunately not one of the salesmen here at the local Toyota shop speaks English so finding out things on the vehicle is a bit of a chore to say the least. I do have a catalog though for the 2010 Prado which helps some. The service department employs foreigners but knowledge on the new Prado is lacking... Do you have a Tonneau cover option for the cargo area there? My catalog mentions it but we don't have it.

mmm is that a child seat anchor in the third row? I find it a huge limitation (of not just the Prado) that you need to clamber through the rear door when you have two kids seats in the middle row.

Hi, my name is Heiko and I life in Germany (near Stuttgart).
My english is not very good.
We have ordered a new Landcruiser 150 (is called in Germany -
                      Landcruiser-Life)
Now I have a question, is the Reverse camera 4,2" display in colour or black/white?

                      Thanks,

                        Howdy -

On my Middle East version, Prado VX-L, the cameras all give a color image on my navigation screen. Hopes this helps. Ken

                          Hi Ken,
thank you for the fast answer.
Do you have the 7" Monitor with GPS or the 4,2" monitor?

Heiko - I have the 7" monitor so it looks like my answer wouldn't apply to your case - sorry. I'll take a look at the dealer this week when I take mine in for service and see what they have here. Cheers, Ken

Thanks, at our local dealer are only Landcruiser with GPS and 7".
No dealer in Germany can give me a answer about my question.
