Remote Resoviour shocks

Lot of builds here have the tried and tested Bilstein shocks with Dobinson springs.
How do they compare to Remote Resoviour shocks.
Im not planning on doing the harder tracks or long corrugated roads.
They worth it?

Value for money in my opinion are the Ironman foam cells. Especially with Whitey valving. Mark is now in possession of a shock bleeding rig (it is a beautifuul thing ) and he will very soon be offering his revalved Ironman shocks and will market through John Zordo. Google Zordo suspension and talk to John. He can get the shocks (and springs) to you for fitting in Rocky or come for a drive and John will look after the work.

FWIW I have remore reservoir custom valved big bore Bilsteins on the back and custom big bore Bilstein struts up front. Serendipity really. I would happily have the revalved Ironman shocks. The other advantage of the Ironman foamcell set up is the height adjustment on the struts. No need to change spacers, springs etc, just wind them up or down.

As to the rest the valving is key and I am not a fan of the other options with remote reservoirs. Either too expensive or underwhelming or both.

Mark has valve curves for a number of vehicles, not just Prados.

it comes down to what your willing to spend, if you can afford decent remote res shocks they will ride very nice on road as well as off-road, Suspension gets used every time you drive the vehicle so for me it’s worth spending the money on.

That said I would not spend the money on a set of MMR dobinsons remote res or similar if your going to do it might all well do it properly adjustable KING, iCons or if there to $$$ 51s
These all provide performance, tune ability and durability all can be re valved but there std valving is fine

As mjrandom stated. Ask John about the Custom Valved Ironman FoamCell Pros. There's a lot of very happy Pradopointers who scored a set in last years Group Buy (I'm 1 of the lucky 100) With the custom valving that Whitey developed, these will sh%t all over any BP51's or Icons for handling and performance.

I recently took a new 2018 Prado for a test, a lot more refined and lots of nice upgrades. What really stood out though was how much better my Prado with Whitey's suspension handles, particularly over some big speed bumps and on tight roundabouts. I'd forgot just how wallowy the original suspension is and also how good Whitey's Ironman is at soaking up both small and big bumps.
