My Prado horn was not working, so went to the mechanic to check. He opened the steering box (in the middle of steering). The horn problem was resolved after replacing some spare, however, after he closed back steering box, power steering and slipping indicator lights came on and have stayed on. Mechanic had no clue why this happened...!.. Has anybody experienced a similar problem and knows how to resolve this....Thanks....! (IIt has a hydraulic steering).

Steering box - do you mean steering wheel, as in the pad you press to get the horn sound? If so then he could have damaged the steering angle sensor which is needed for some ESP/traction control systems, causing the 'slip' light to come on permanently. Suggest you go back and ask him to investigate - could get expensive if you have to get another mechanic to replace it.
Hopefully it's a simple fix like he forgot to plug in the sensor or similar.

@RealAdventureWagon, thanks....!...yes the steering wheel. I got all the wires/connections checked. And also pulling out the battery wire for a computer reboot. Nothing works. I am fearing now that he might have damaged the sensor as you said.
BTW, yesterday I got a computer test for the steering wheel. The guy could not complete the test as he has some issues with his portable computer equipment. However, an initial check showed steering angle sensor at -958 degrees. So shall I go for a steering wheel computer alignment? Not sure, whether it would work. Another mechanic suggested to try that.Last edited by mirshahid; 23-05-2019, 05:53 PM.

If you're having no luck with your mechanic then try a Toyota expert or maybe a good dealership, but be sure to sit down when they tell you the estimated cost! Really though if it was fine originially bar the horn then your original mechanic should be putting it right or at the least paying for it to be put right.
Good luck with it...

Standard toyota Christmas tree lights. (Google it) it has thrown a code.. More than likely he has left off a wire, damaged steering sensor or damaged an airbag connector. Your mechanic sounds like he doesn't know what he is doing..
Get a code reader on it to find out what the fault is.
Did he take the steering wheel completely off?
