Hi All
Just recently switched to the Toyota clan after 12 years in a Pajero. Signed the deal for a white 2012 GXL over the weekend so will hopefully be picking it up this week sometime - bloody excited.
The Pajero has had a fair bit of work to it so will stay in the background as the play car but I'm wanting to do the Prado up to be a mild touring wagon so any information on the following would be appreciated;
- Bullbar - had ARB on the Pajero, will have ARB on the prado (but colour coded)
- Suspension - seems to be the usual story for brand vs brand. I can get the remote res WCS setup pretty cheap through a friend - although it is very hard to find reviews on if they are any good or not? They seem to get their suspension out of China but thought I might give them a go.
- Dual battery - this link tells me a lot https://www.pradopoint.com.au/forum/...-battery-guide. I'll be doing the voltage boost diode with the above install too (talk to LeighW)
- Tyres - going up a size to a 265/70R17 for some clearance doesn't seem to have any ill effect. Puts the speedo back into line and can still fit the rear wheel cover? I put 110k kms of pain on my first set of toyo's on the pajero so will probably go the OPAT 2's
- Floor mats - Have 3D mats in the Pajero which seem decent so I think I'll go them again. Doesn't seem to be much between them and the sandgrabba other than the price.
- Bash plates - the gen 4 Pajero boys won't kit their cars up without a set of decent bash plates. How necessary are they for a prado? (will mostly be on the beach and gravel road - no rocks or ruts)
- Recovery points - standard ones are ok?
Apologies for the lazyness - I've done a bit of research on the suspension, mats and battery front but not much yet for the bash plates and recovery points. Any other must do's for a Prado?
Thanks in advance
Nick
