Navigation Option pack for VX

Hi all,

It looks like the VX now has the Navigation Option Pack (Available from May 2010 production).
Do you know if it is possible to add this pack in an already-ordered VX, ie. already somewhere in the production line?
Mine was ordered end of April and they said would be here about August.
I asked the dealer and they made up some stuff about too hard to change the interior
Surely they can shuffle the allocation around with other buyers?

mmm seems funny - I bought a VX on Sunday and it was one that was already on its way to the dealer - when I talked about the sat nav he mentioned figures of $3,800 and realistically after A'd forked out that much cash I just didn't want to dig any deeper. And he also managed to talk me out of it in subtle ways, so maybe it's just too much hassle for them. I am sure that it slots straight in because i looked at the Kakadu and the GLX at the same time (no VX on the forecourt) and they mounting area was the same size. Feel a bit gutted that I have to buy a gps seperately, but I'll talk to a specialist and see what they can do.

Hi an000,

I ordered my VX about 1 month ago and was successful in getting the SatNav option pack added in. I was told that up to a point on the production line it is possible to get the option added.

I was charged $2,500 for it.

(was expecting to get some more information from Toyota today via email on exactly what the option pack contains, but at this stage not to many people seem to know anything about it - in fact I was only told the price on Friday)

My car should be ready late July.

I would prefer the larger screen on the nav pack too... such a shame that they didn't offer a sat nav unit as standard. But then they probably wouldn't sell as many kakadus if they did...
I saw an aftermarket one that looked similar in overlander magazine but I'll leave mine and see what I can live with. i did that same with my 100 series and drove it 26,000 k's around aus with the standard tyres on, lots of rough offroad work, no issues with traction, not a single puncture (although they were forever stained dark red from the dust!)... sometimes it's easy to overcook your car and add too many options.

I just picked up my new GXL T/D and got a after market Sat Nav Unit fitted from the dealer prior to delivery. It is a Eclipse AVN726EA, has blue tooth, DVD, IPod Connection which he put in the glove box and is a touch screen. Looks really neat and works a treat. I bought mine through Sci-Fleet Brisbane. Pic Attached. Price was $2100 fitted. Cheers Glenn
