Greetings from Johannesburg.
Glad to be part of this informative and friendly community. Seems a common problem with Prados (and other vehicles) is that on rutted roads the front brakes rattle. From what I have read is that the most common advice is to "live with it".
When replacing my front brake pads I noticed that there are clips / springs on only one side on the pins holding the tops of the pads. See pic.
According to the Toyota workshop manual this is correct, but I asked why not add a clip / spring to the other side? See pic. The Parts manager said he couldn't see that it would do any harm, but couldn't explain the one clip situation.
My other vehicles have all had two anti-rattle clips / springs.
I have not taken the Prado for a test drive yet as I am hoping for some advice and comments first.
My thanks
