Whistle noise low RPM

I have been battling to find a whistling noise in my 150 series for a while now and am having no luck.

The whistle noise generally wont start until the car warms up and has been driven for 5 mins or so and will only happen under light load between 1500-2000ish RPM.
If I accelerate hard the noise goes away, also the noise wont happen while the car isn't moving.

Any tips would be great.

I am refreshing this topic as it was quite popular but there was never any resolve. The noise also goes away when I go through puddles/crossings. It’s driving me bonkers!

I had a similar high pitched whistle/whine at low revs or idle that turned out to be the exhaust vibrating on slightly worn rubber bushings at the mounting points under the vehicle. I was able to confirm this by putting my foot on the exhaust when the noise was present at idle. You may have trouble doing this given it stops when the car is stationary but perhaps tightening the mounting bolts would assist?

there is a well know issue with a gasket in the exhaust that 'squeaks' when hot under certain conditions. It's a $30 part or $10 if you shop around, I think that this might be the part https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/182325115524
