Playing music off USB stick

Hi gents,

Hopefully somebody can help me with this.

I am trying to play music off a usb stick but keep getting a error message that says " No support ". Ive formatted the USB to the fat 16 format and the files do end in .mp3. Is there something Im missing ?? or is the Prado not capable of playing directly off USB.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It works fine in my VX, I use an 8GB stick with music in MP3 format and several folders, but I think you may need to use FAT32 format on the stick.

Not sure about fat formatting but provided its in mp3 format mine works on a flashdrive I bought new

weird thing is there is "blank" track between each actual song???

strange but works

no formating for me, i just put the thing in my mac - copied music across, put it in the car and it worked fine.

Thanks guys. Its very weird because when you plug the usb in the screen says "reading" and then even seems to recognise how many songs are on it.

I tried the usb on 3 different pc's and it worked fine so I guess its the head unit. I'll get the dealer to look at it and report back if they find anything.

Had the same problem with my Kakadu. I wondered why some albums wouldn't play. Ensure that you format the USB as FAT32 and have NOTHING but mp3 files on it. JPG's or other files will prevent it from playing.

I found that if you want your folders alphabetically sorted then download the entire USB to your PC or Mac, clear out the USB (best format it again) then upload the whole music collection back to the USB again.
