Did you use the existing mudflap as your template cutout? It looks that way.

Got a phone call from my dealer today (out of the blue) letting me know they have the new longer mudflaps in stock and will be replacing the old ones front and back. He said he is putting through on a warranty claim and will replace the damaged rear bumper with a new one as well. They will order a new bumper and replace this and the mudflaps together.
Again I was told like other have said, it is because I put through the service report about this issue at a service.

Peter, please post some pics when you can. If I read this correct, you actually have to have damage on your vehicle before they wil replace them?

I don't know if you actually have to have damage or not. I guess you could drive through a big lot of mud on the way to toyota and tell them you want the new mudflaps. I was told it will be warranty so i would say they have to do it if you tell them. I was just told that they got hold of me about this because I had previously got the service manager to write up a report and take photos. I haven't got them YET though!!!!

Was speaking to a Toyota dealership owner I met and he is a 4x4 fan. Showed him my rear quarter panels sandblasted. He did say "did you know Toyota did NOT design prados to go off road ".

While disappointed he said no amount of them complaining etc will change the fact Toyota know that 80% of prados never go off road. Toyota have told them so

Edit: Holy $hit I just looked at the price! $390 for mud flaps. They must clean themselves for that price. Struth!

To be fair to Toyota, I've updated the Petition with info on the testing of the new flaps and some photos from the forum which I've posted on the BLOG page.

There are no identifying features in the photos but if you have an issue with me posting them, please let me know and I'll remove them.

Please continue to sign the petition if you have yet to do so.

I sent Toyota an email last night and just got a phone call from them. The lovely lady gave me a case number and said toyota will be bringing out new mud flaps at the end of the month to fix this problem. She told me to go to my dealer and explain the situation and give them my case number and they'll book me in to get the new mud flaps fitted.

The lovely lady gave me a case number and said toyota will be bringing out new mud flaps at the end of the month to fix this problem. She told me to go to my dealer and explain the situation and give them my case number and they'll book me in to get the new mud flaps fitted.

Wow looks like we may have a fix peoples????

Ill call them and get a case number too i think cause ours is getting worse specially with the rain qld has had....

So I went to my dealer on the way home form work today and told him what the Toyota lady told me. He knew nothing about it and asked his manager. His manager said there was a technical bulletin released and he had two boxes of them sent to him but forwarded them on to the big Toyota holding yard in Townsville to be fitted to all new Prado's. So I have missed out by a week getting them from the start. But anyway I arranged for them to be fitted when I take them in for my first complementary service. But the dealer was still unsure who's paying, he said you might have to or they will be forwarding the bill to Toyota Australia under a customer satisfaction scheme thing. But if they have issued a technical bulletin that to me means they have acknowledged the flaw themselves which should mean they pay? I know it wont be me thats for sure!

Interesting, I wonder if my dealer (Oldmac toyota cleveland) know anything about it, only one way to find out i guess. Would be good if we could get some pictures of them to see what there like.
