No they are not as long as they look in the photo and they naturally curl back. I only added 150mm to the overall length and with the Ironman suspension we got nearly 50mm lift. I also added a small piece to the back of the running boards to try and keep them clean which also works well. As someone else stated the fix should be wider but this would look a bit too tacky to do an add on.

Mud Flap problem DIY
Just bolted these on on the weekend, looks quite neat in reality and does the the job very well.
$45 in total from local ARB/4WD shop, a few bolts each with nice wide load bearing steel mudflap washers and locknuts hidden behind the pannelling.Attached FilesComment

Took the pictures of the new flaps fitted to another 150 to my local Toyota dealer along with name of the dealership in Townsville that has fitted them and after they spoke with them the process is apparently that a DPR must be loged by your dealer with Toyota Australia (including photos of the car). Not sure whether I have to take the car onto a dirt road first before the photos, I assume I will have to otherwise there aint much to see!2010 150 Glacier White GXL D4D AutoComment

Riv, I contacted Mike Carney's in Townsville (my local) they submitted a DPR, no problems and no photos asked for. Took around a week and vehicle is booked in for 2/6 to replace them. We do have a little bit of gravel rash but not much. They haven't asked to look either.

Thanks Scarlett, I have to take it back to have the radiator cap & plastic tank replaced under warranty (small intermitant leak which I believe is just the cap) and will talk with them further on the issue. I will post when I know what is happenning.2010 150 Glacier White GXL D4D AutoComment

Rang my local Toyota dealer yesterday and he said that the larger mud flaps were only for a trial and probably would be avaliable by X-Mas at my own expense. I asked if there was a possibility Toyota would cover it under warranty and he said just because Toyota make an improvement doesn't mean customers should get that for free !!!2009 Prado Kakadu silver Auto with towbar. I don't know why the attitude from the other dealers, we had the mudflaps replaced today. No problem for Carney's here in Townsville. I don't see it as an improvment, more like making the mudflaps 'fit for purpose'.Comment
