It looks like a photochop... Could be the dodgy image qaulity though... It's not too bad, I rekon it could grow on me, although the styling suggests that it's gonna be soccer mum MkII.

Car companies do follow comman design language. Look closely at RAV, Kluger or the Landcruiser they all are now similar in style. So may be prado will finally join the family looks

I know it's only a photo but realistically it doesn't look geared up for offroad action. The size of the rims are huge! definitely hwy oriented and it doesn't have sidesteps. Not that the sidesteps on the 120 offer much sill protection anyway.

                  Nope, BUT...

I have just been out test driving the new face lifted Rav today..

Guess what it looks like at the front? Yep, the above shot..
I spoke at length to a knowledgable Toyota contact and he was of the impression that the facelifted Prado will look just like the new RAV shape..

The fronts are identical to the above pic apart form the fog lights and a slight bit of trim.

I think if you want to check out a Rav you will see what the upgrade is going to be like.

Was at the Sydney Motorshow, and they had a Prado Grande there, along with a 200 Series Sahara.

The salesman there said that he just loves the Prado and has just ordered one for himself. He said that he ordered it with the KDSS system. I had to get him to backup and repeat what he said, citing that I thought the KDSS system is only available on the 200 Series Cruiser. I also clarified that while the Prado is sold in the USA as a Lexus GX470 with KDSS, there's no such option in Australia with the Prado. However he was very adamant that he ordered KDSS on his Prado.

Either he knows something we don't or he's just using the old "this product is so good I have bought one too for myself" sales pitch.

I did have a look at the Grande on display, but couldn't see anything that was any different to what's available right now. The right side steering wheel blanks are still there.

Not a fan. Kind of looks like a cross between a new Kluger and a Mitsubishi Outlander. :?

                        I'll take my 120 series anyday over that 8) 8) 8)

                        Cheers,

Naw, don't like it from that shot. The 200 series rounder shape isn't my favorite either I'd have to admit. The front just looks way to snub nosed for a serious 4WD look. Bodywork far too rounded and soft looking for my liking. Have to agree that it looks like another step towards "car" and another away from "4WD". Just maybe I should put another 120 in storage for that cold rainy day when this one falls apart.

Had a bit of time up my sleeve till the big match Australia v Qatar and search the net for infor on the Prado and found that Toyota will display the updated Prado at the Johannesburg International Motor Show, 1-9 November.

Don't know if it will be the upgrade everyone is talking about but it looks to have only minor changes and the interesting thing to the D4D owners is that SA haven't changed over to the D4D it is still using the 1KZ-TE motor. Read the blogs at the end of the article one person is complaining why they aren't getting the new D4D motor. I wonder why that is???????

I was just about to post the pic up here, till i realized you guys beat me to it!!
Don't like it either too much... But it probably with time it will grow on me.
I think the approach and departure angles look decent... Well better then the LC200 ones anyway, but front on it looks a little too cutesy... a bit too babyish for my taste....
