When is the new generation Prado due?

    Hi guys i also went thru the dilema of waiting for a model update or buying now
    Ended up buying now (pick up on saturday) for a couple of reasons.
    When a new model comes out there will probably be a waiting list and therefore dealers will be reluctant to bargain and with Toyotas history of lifting the prices on new models i probably couldnt afford the extra cash.

    bring on saturday!

      I recently had a test drive of a 120 Prado, and being a Patrol aficionado was very pleased.

      The dealer I spoke with impressed me by pointing out some known faults, eg engine rattle when cold, and recommended NOT putting an ARB steel bull bar on, as the weight is thought to cause firewall cracks. He said alloy bars were fine.

      Then the silly bugger spoiled it all by not sending me a quote. :cry:
      Patrol's are great vehicles. Pity about Nissan.

        It doesn't really matter when you jump in, there always seems to be something better just around the corner. If you always wait for the updated models you'll always be waiting. Anyone who's looked at upgrading their PC will certainly know this too.

        I say jump in now and get out there! It's also widely thought that it isn't a good idea to jump into a brand new model. Let a few revisions appear first to iron out all the issues.

          Don't forget to order a pradopoint sticker and put on your car would be nice to get a few Prado enthusiasts here in sunny Gladstone doing some get togethers to share knowledge.

            Dont worry Mick4680 I spent 5 years in Gladstone and lived my first 23 in the district. All the lations live down that way, so there is a few of us lurking from that way.

              I was at 2 different toyota dealers yesterday and they both said that there will be no new shaping to the 2009 prado, i am still waiting for the motor show but i think i am going to be disappointed and not find anything there.


              Even through they are not brining out a new model prado do you think they will upgrade the 2009 one?
              - LED Lights
              - Upgrade / update of interior

                Hi Brent,

                Toyota has consistently enhanced little things on various models of the Prado on a semi-regular basis. MP3 players, rear air, and other little nick nacks. No deal breakers, but nice to haves. Sometimes they are big enhancements, like the D4D engine.

                Unless you find a reliable 'insider', then we could all only have WAG at best. I would wait for Toyota to make release announcements...

                              Maybe. A mate of mine has just ordered a new Rav, and his dealer has told him to hold the order as a facelift is in the works.

                              I don't know what it is with the Japanese 4WD's and their rear window lines. Most of them are downright ugly, especially the Nissan XTrail, the Pajero, and that smaller Mitsi - Outlander?

                              If that's the new Prado, it's not the worst, but ARB is gunna have to jump through hoops to get their iron on the front...
