  • Need ideas for making fridge slide easily removable

Hi guys, I'm after a few ideas. I have just recently installed a new Drifta drawer system in the back of the Prado and now need to install my Waeco fridge slide on the top. Ideally though, id like to make it easily removable so hen we're not camping, the top of the drawers remains flat for the dog (and packing other things in).

I could use threaded inserts in the top of the drawers and bolt the slide in and out although I'm a little nervous about drilling 9mm holes in the top of my new drawer system. One in slightly the wrong spot would make a bit of a mess of it.

Can anyone think of any other ways to make the fridge slide removable?

    Cheers, Sam.

Go on drill it, drill, drill, drill

You can use the fridge slide as a guide so it shouldn't be too hard to get the holes in the correct position

I did it the way you have suggested on my black widow drawers. It takes me 4 screws and literally 2 minutes to get it in and out.

Just remember to measure twice and drill once. I used the holes in my fridge slide as the template to drill through the top of my drawers.

Spent some tim last weekend installing the captive nuts for the fridge slide. Worked a treat and the holes even line up.

Check it out at my rig build up here. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=9516&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=20
