Re: Towing a 2250Kg Camper without a brake controller
Well said Nick! And just to backup the side AGAINST, without the correct safety systems and following the laws that have been put into place, voiding insurance company policy for the sake of 20km and a family favour in your $65,000 car. Is it really worth it? Get a tilt tray as suggested, or another (suitably equiped) vehicle, or hire a brake controller that suits connection to a vehicle temporarily.
Wouldn't towing the Jayco without the brake controller actually be more dangerous within city limits due to the increased traffic on the road (and dare i say it - more "idiots"!)... Not to mention stopping distanced, reduced ability to maneuver around obsticles, why would you ever suggest that this was a good idea!!!
