New Vehicle Order Tracking

G'day all,

I ordered my white auto diesel GXL in September and was told it would be a November build and December delivery.

I've been out of contact (no mobile) for three weeks.

I've just received an email from my Sydney dealer telling me that my Prado can be picked up on Friday (I don't get back to Sydney until Saturday).

I've never been given any details to allow me to track my Prado's progress but now it's here. I've emailed my dealer with a few questions.

I'm not sure if I'm excited or not - I was sort of expecting an 'upgrade model' with privacy glass and other mysterious changes.

The Prado they have for me may well be someone else's cancelled order?!

Oh well, looks like Christmas has come early :-)

My New Prado
Got a call from the Car Dealer, the ship arrives a Fremantle Port this Saturday 12th Nov. afternoon.
The Prado is suppose to be on it. 5 to 10 days of preping for Aus, a couple of days at the
Dealer for towbar & the likes. Then it will be all mine.

27 weeks Tomorrow, since the order went in 5th May....but hell....who's counting now.

May have to take a rug, picnic lunch & a couple of coldies down there & watch it roll of the "Swift Ace"
Not too many coldies don't want to end with no licence now..... hahaha.

Again congrats to you Bigben, mine was built about 2 weeks ago but no ship assigned to it yet dunno whats the go there, so still waiting, maybe xmas, new year , easter, who knows

The only way I found out was to ask for the delivery co-ordinator & not the dealer, she got back to me within 5 mins & said that it's on thr Swift Ace & due in on Saturday bla bla bla (sort of switched off after the date). Don't think I would have known otherwise.
Sorry cannot tell you which part of october mine was built, but boy you would have to unlucky to miss this boat.

Great news Bigben!!! Hopefully they are able to turn the car around and ready for delivery before next weekend. Ours come in on the boat on a Saturday also and the dealer had it ready for pickup by midday on the Thursday. Might be an extra day if they are fitting the tow bar which is why I waited till the 1000km service to have it done.

Got most the mods done on ours ready for our trip to Darwin, so if you want to have a look at any of it, let me know.

Thanks a lot, I've got most of the early mods ready to go ( & thanks for the shopping tips/places on the other thread) wheels, tyres, (that what you get with a GX) Bull bar & suspension. The others are going to have be bought & my installs. The pockets don't quite run that deep, but we have nearly 12 months till the BIG Northen trip. & I may well look you up to check out what you have done.

Well, I think this is it, bit over 29 weeks.
Apparently I can pick up the New Prado TOMORROW !!

I have been watching the tracking system now for 3 months since late August no change however the dealer have advised me it is a November build due in January 2012 this has been the longest 5 months of my life.
I have ordered a 150 GXL Silver Pearl Diesel + ARB accessories to come.

Ordered my 150 gxl mid September and was told Mid December build for a mid January delivery. A phone call from my dealer today informed me it will now be a mid January Build for a mid Feb delivery. Look on the bright side she said "atleast you get a 2012 plated Prado."

The wait is killing me

The baby has arrived, all are doing well, father been busy but forgot the camera for the birth.
Already got new shoes & going later in the week for bar & suspension.
See you all on the build site.

Well, I got the GX because that's all I wanted & needed, suited us just fine.
I thought I got what I ordered, didn't know the GX had DEC - (Down Hill assist Control) control "as well as" traction control ??
Maybe my mistake, anyway, the longer mud flaps are there.
I alll the lights work for the DEC ?? Test later this week !!

I have finally been given my customer order tracking number from my dealer after ordering my VX on 10th October.

Current Status: On Order
Planned Production Month: Still to be confirmed

Well the dealer did tell me it will be a February delivery... At least now I can keep an eye on whats happening!!
