  • Rear Floor GXL

I have removed the third row seats and made a new floor for my GXL. Seats were pretty easy to remove, weigh a tonne, and replaced with new floor. Floor has fridge slide and all up cost apart from my own labour was around $320. I didn't want drawers as I use plastic containers for recovery gear etc. All up took about 4 days to complete.

    Cheers

Bruce, Nice job. That is similar to what I want to do. Except I am going to do to flat slides. fridge on the right and other gear in trunks on the left. Where did you buy your draw runners from?

            Hi,
Carpet used was 2m x 1.5m from boat chanderley, and yes I used the the seat anchor points at the back and at the front used nutserts for the two holes in the existing mounting frame. Ply was 12mm with packers

Bruce. need to put the "DOT" between "COM" and "AU" or you end up at some medical gizmo mob. LOL.
You had me confused as when I looked.

Another post shows the key sensor and wiring on the floor. Did you space the ply up off the floor or does the sensor sit in a recess?

The floor has around 31mm in spacers or packers underneath to fit level and the key sensor fits within this space without any alteration.

                        Thanks for that.

EDIT: Thinking about it has anyone who has installed drawers actually moved the sensor from the middle of the floor? I wonder whether it would make any difference.

                            Hi Bruce,

A job well done, it looks great!

Out of interest, what thickness ply did you use?

Are you able to put the seats back in if need be or was there some modification needed?

                              Aaron,

Ply used was 12mm structural ply. The packers were made from same material. Floor attached using two nutserts at front and existing bolts at rear in the corners. Seats can be put back in on removing these four bolts. No modifications apart from 2 nutserts.

                              Cheers
