Ironman used my ZR as a project car to design the springs for the 150. When they returned the car they had put a longer rear link on it because of the change in angle. I am not positive, but I thought they said they used the rear link from an 80 series cruiser. I would definitely be asking whether you need a longer rear link.

What rating of shock did all you guys get? The shorty is a bit lighter than the LWB but after they installed the suspension I thought it was way way to hard. They then swapped the shocks for their "luxury" ride shocks and it was much better. I have had the ironman suspension on for 60,000km now and it has been fantastic, it is still a little hard for the lighter SWB but I will put up with them for the extra clearance and handling and price. I was able to get the Ironman suspension and bulbar all installed for the the same price as just an ARB front bar.

Guys with the foam shocks, just be careful if you are doing any outback trips i.e.. Simpson Desert. I had Ironman foam shocks on the last 4WD and while they are good, if you overheat them (which I did with a fully loaded vehicle) then they do not recover like oil shocks do and you have to throw them out and start again. For that reason I went with oil shocks this time.
    Thanks,

    Adam

      Hi,

I was of the understanding that the "Foam Shocks" were simply Larger Oil Shocks with foam in them to create more surface area for the Oil to cool?

      See link for details.
      http://www.ironman4x4.com/html/foam_cell.html

So maybe the foam goes "off" and clog's the shock?

I also have the Ironman lift with foam cell on my 150, happy customer.

      Bernie.

Hi all, just had the 2" ironman lift kit done with foam shocks and all i can say is WOW!!
No rolling around corners, no diving under brakes and decent clearance!! The guys at brendale were fantastic (as someone previously commented) and I wouldn't hesitate going back again and again. That is without a doubt the best decision I've made for some time. Believe me I agonized over it for weeks!!

A lot of people bag Ironman, but Ive had it on both Prados Ive owned and apart from flogging out the bushes in the front shocks on the 120 Series(replaced by Ironman under Warranty, no questions asked), I have had no issues at all. I fitted Ironman 15mm Spacers to the front shocks today, and Im very happy with the result. I have increased the height by ?, and the Prado is now riding very level front to back. Im now going to fit air bags to the rear for the times when Im fully loaded with gear.

I don't know why they bag them cause I've not heard a bad report. They've been around as long as TJM and ARB gear. I have read about plenty of people not happy with lots of other brands.
