Is there any kit giving more than 2" lift for the 150?

Hi, I've been looking at what's available for the Prado 150 GXL and can only find 2" kits, except for Caloffroad who offers 3". However I'm not sure what the kit includes and if the CV angles would still be OK after that lift. Anybody has experience with that particular kit and can provide some insight? Otherwise what kit would be best? I've heard that some 2" kits gives you more than 50mm where others only give you 40mm.

Hi Sly, welcome to the forum, before seeking any answers you might want to go to the 150 suspension section and troll through their as there is already a heap of info documented that may well answer your questions.

Thanks Rob. I tried to search as you said before posting this but could not find anything about 3" suspension lift being achieved. I've seen Shamozzle has been trying before but did not succeed yet. And nobody so far offered any feedback on the 3" kit from Caloffroad really. I'd be interested to know if anyone has it installed and what they think about it and I'm sure others too.

Sly their ain't much around especially for the 150, 120 and 150 r similiar and some stuff is interchangeable, try somewhere like superior engineering in Burpengary Brisbane they were doing bigger stuff on the 120.

I just put tough dog adjustable shocks and springs in. lift is 40mm, however taking into account the previous suspension sag,ed up with 70mm Al round. CV's are all close to flat as well.

One of the main reasons you wont find to many lift kits above 2' is they can start becoming a real nightmare with all the stability control etc. My advice would be to stick to the tried and tested 2'. There are some companies working on a 3' lift but expect it will be a while before they either make it to market or fail.

My OME 50mm lift is a genuine 50mm lift if not more.

Currently running 820mm bottom of wheel to guard with bar, winch & lights.

i've been talked to matt at monster rides a couple of weeks ago, and he said that they are developing a 3" kit for the 150's, he said he'd get back to me with pricing and availability, pretty soon. very hard to get hold of him though. but it sounds pretty good so i'll keep trying. My KDSS could be a problem though, not too sure how that will fare. If i hear anything i'll post it up.

Been chatting with the Monster rides team also. Hangin out for a decent lift on this thing that also performs, would be the icing on the cake actually. Ages, how'd you go with the blokes at monster rides, I reckon I'm in the same boat as you, just waiting to hear back from them on pricing and when it's available.

i talked to him about 2 tuesdays ago and he said the kit was pretty much ready but they were looking at different shock types and stuff, he reckons he has a few guys that he's been talking to about trialling the kit, and that he would have price and availability by the end of the week. But that was two weeks ago, i've emailed and called but havn't got any reply, shame because i'm pretty much ready and keen to go. Guess i'll just have to keep on trying.

Yeah they can be a bit hard to get hold of, Max can also be contacted via the new Hilux forum as well, this is where i learnt about Monster Rides in the first place, either one can help, just waiting to get a workshop up here to give me a hand installing it and then I'll get in contact with them again to order the kit. Hanging out for it though.

The OME kit i fitted was over 3" and closer to 4"unladen when fitted, whilst they only list it as a 2" as thats all thats legal to fit without mod plates etc depending on where you are
