  • Cooper S/T Maxx

Well finally picked up the new rig yesterday and went straight from the dealer to the tyre shop. Off with the dunlop rags and on with some new Coopers 265/70/17 just released over here in WA.

Never had Coopers before but with the 3 month delay in BFG's I took the plunge. Will see how they hold up over time and then report back. 700km trek home on the tarmac and they dont hum like the old muddies do on the 120 and oh so comfy !!

Now, if you could just give us an address I'm sure someone will "pop" round and relieve you of them ;p

I have ST (non Maxx) and have had AT Coopers before them. They have served me well and I'm sure will do the same for you, especially goven the stronger wall on the Maxx. 32 psi sounds a tad low but the one lesson I have learnt re Coppers is better to under do them than overdo them!

Yes I was very suprised when he said 32 psi and even got him to right it down on the tyre card/warranty. 36 would of been my guess but apparently with the new design there made for 32...

not sure if there available in that size, call Richards Tyrepower in osborne park Marts and check with them if you like.

              cheers

Very nice tyre mate....Unfortunately the 18" Kaka versions have a WAY to big OD to fit...I'm happy with the Cooper Zeons on my Kaka so far and find 38psi spot on.

They are a definitely good looking tyre and a good choice without having to go to a full muddy. Love having the side blocks on.

From their site they sound to be very puncture resistant which is what I look for.

                      hey paul,

do you know if the tyre cover will fit over the spare?

my wife likes the cover and so that may be a deal breaker as much as i like these new offerings.

No Louie it dosn't fit. They took the back plastic plate from behind it also so the lot had to go. I was a bit hesitant at first as it was all so shiny and new !
I drove round town and when I passed the nearest Toyota dealer I walked in and handed it back to them for nothing. They thought all their xmas' had come at once and couldn't understand why I didn't want it. You colud tell the blokes were not interested in 4wding.....
Will pick up a canvas one and poke a hole for the reverse camera in the centre of it and be done with it. Apparently the hard cover will rattle and get full of dust if you hit the dirt regularly anyway.

                            Hi Beached,

Do you mind if I ask how much you paid per tyre. I'm thinking of getting the ST Maxx myself. Looks great on the car.
