will a 265/70/r17 fit into the spare wheel holder on a gxl

Depends I think, I've just fitted the cooper st Maxx and it almost fits however the extra lugs on the sidewalks of the ST Maxx is preventing it going on properly, more width than overal height preventing it I believe. There is foam pieces inside the cover I cut them write back thinking that it would fit but to no avail. Ended up putting a few washers on the studs and mounting without the back and front cover.

I have ST MAXX 265/70/17 on the 150 and it fits fine, the ST looks like it has more tread which may interfere with the rear step (bigger circumference), I think you should be OK but it will be close, see if the tyre joint can try it on for you.

What price are you getting? I hear they are more expensive than the ST MAXX?

Fabs, are you talking about putting the cover back on is restricted?

Yeah I was Bernie, originally the thread title was spare wheel cover.
I couldn't get the spare wheel cover to fit properly.
Have you been able to get your cover on?

Fabes, I did not bother, sold it not soon after starting the 150 build. Did not like the RAV4 look...

Got $50 for it, which was less that what I expected. Someone got a good deal...

The BFG AT 265 x 70 x R17 fits no problem, and just clears the back step.

Goodyear MT/R only just fits, the cover just doesn't clip on all the way around now.

Question - Will I get any rubbing if I fit ST MAXX 265/70/17 to my standard ride height 120?

Edit - Oops, sorry, just realised I'm in the 150 forum.....

So the Cooper ST Maxx 265x70/R17 will not fit under the cover but the BFG mud terrain will?

I haven't had the vehicle that long but doesn't the camera mount in the spare wheel cover?

The camera mounts on the tyre carrier, not on the cover.
