  • Cheap 17 inch rim - 150 lookalike

    Hi all
after the long battle trying to find a cheap 17 inch rim as a second spare (had to be a alloy gotta look good for my hommies in the middle of nowhere lol)

i did some hunting and found the toyota rim is shipped over from one of those foreign countries and cost $1300 for the rim not even a tiny bit of rubber on that so then looked for second hand none to be found at the time

And this is where it gets good really really good there is a brand called au racing they make a pretty much identical alloy for $275
i hope my searching helps someone

Make sure it takes the same nuts as the OE rim. There was/is an issue with aftermarket 'identical' 120 rims and the nuts required being different.

Nice. It looks like it takes flanged nuts too which is the same as factory and not tapered ones like the Speedy Grande for the 120.

Thanks Daniel, I need a couple of wheels for camper trailer, and was looking at possibility of same size wheels as the Prado. Did you pick this wheel up yet, and where did you locate them Daniel?

Anyway, if this is of any help, I did find this information about the Australian Racing AU 626 wheel on the BSA website.

Hmm could be interested as well. That would release 4 GX 17x7.5 steelies, wonder what they would be worth.

Just remember you will need different wheel nuts for the Prado alloys compared to any steel wheels. I carry spare nuts for the Prado and for the steel wheels on the van, in case I need to swap a spare between the 2.

Nice find! I've been looking around for a 2nd spare wheel for a while now and I was just about to give up and order 6 x steel wheels, but this should do nicely.

Good find. I have been looking for wheels for the camper that will match those on the 150 Prado GXL. These come with an ET25 offset as well unlike the Speedy Grande rims I have been looking at. They only come with ET10 or ET30 offset. Will be interested to see how they go on the vehicle.
