  • Tyre/wheel options

Hi all. My 150 GX has the standard 6.5 rims + a set of 245/70/17 ATs fitted. Fine but I want more. 1st thoughts are a set of GXL 7.5 with bigger BFG ATs but now I'm also thinking if I keep the standards for road or long family trips I can go a bit more aggressive with the second set.

So now I'm thinking 265/70/17 BFG mud terrains on king terra steal rims.
Reading on here I think there should be no rubbing even at standard height as I have ( for now)
But I'm just interested on the recommended width and off set terra rim I should use as there are a few options.
    Any advice ???

    Cheers

This topic has been comprehensively covered. Maybe look in the wheels/tyres section...

P30 will be a problem and likely not legal. Go through here and have a read, especially Hutch's posts:

Mmm. They come in an 18 offset I think so maybe that's the go. Will bring the rim outboard further too which will look better.

Ok some more thoughts. From what I have read when it comes to a standard height 150 and standard GXL rims. You can have either 265/70 or 275/60 with no rubbing. You can't have 275/70 as this will rub on what I assume to be the UCA.
But if you have the king steal 8 inch rims with 18 offset. This moves the wheel further out and according to the calculator on the above thread this means when both setups compared the king wheel is
            Greater or more suspension clearance
12 mm closer to outer guard which I believe to be ok.
21mm more tyre wall filling the guard which is the only iffy one.

            Any thoughts ?
