  • Are 285/70/17s to big for towing ??

Hi Guys, a bit of assistance is needed.

I'm looking the option of changing my current coopers AT3 265/60/18" to 265/70/17" with some new rims. But have been toying with the idea of jumping up to 285/70/17" with a + 6-10 off set rim. But we will be soon doing a lot of towing with a bigger than most Mirage RV Oasis camper trailer. Only reason im looking into the 285's is we will be doing a lot of off road driving in places like through the Kimberly's, NT, and up to Cape York. But im not sure exactly how much toque and power im going to lose with the bigger diameter.

Does anyone have any experience towing a camper trailer or caravan with the 285/70/17's in a 150 diesel auto??

    thanks, Matt
