  • Biggest tyres on standard rims

Hi, was just wondering what size wheels could fit on standard 2012 altitude rims with no lift, but lift with be in the future.

265/70R17 is the biggest that you can fit. You may have to do away with the spare wheel cover depending on which tyres you get though. The Hankooks I just fitted don't fit inside the cover.

Thanks heaps, and another question what would be the biggest set I could fit on the standard rims with a 2 inch lift later later down the track.

Without changing the UCAs or different offset, 265/70R17 is your best bet.

Lift really doesn't help for larger tyres on the Prado, it's not the top of the gaurd that will rub with bigger tyres. As oters have said its the tyre rubbing on the UCA'S and then on the mudflaps and front chassis.

          Cheers Andrew

Thanks guys that's really helpful, looks like 265/70r17 it is for now and will have to sacrifice the rear tyre cover.

Which largest 17 inch tyres have you fitted to VX Prado?

Is anyone running Prado 150 GXL 17 inch rims on Prado 150 VX?

              Want to fit 265/70R17.

With 265/70R17 will I be OK or will there be any rubbing/other issues? Which tyres (brands) have you used with success on standard Prado / not modified?

I have ran both Goodyear MTR's and Cooper AT3's in 265/70/17 and the spare cover just squeezes on.
Graphite 2010 Manual TD GXL, Goodyear MTR's ARB bar, Rallye 4000's.
