D697 265/70R17 Discontinued

Just letting everyone know that i discovered today when trying to buy my second spare that my 6 month old tyres are now discontinued with none available in queensland. Sucks big time for me, and anyone else who has these. Apparently they are going to release their new mud tyre in that size, but at this stage have nothing in that size. Thanks Bridgestone, I didn't think i would have to worry about that with you:evil:

So just 70 series discontinued? Still producing 65 profile?

If you're desperate to buy a another spare you could try buying direct from overseas. In places like the US this same tyre is called the Revo 2 and I think you can get the size you're after in an LT construction (Aus model is only passenger construct I believe). I read on another site that places like the website tirerack ship to Aus and with our exchange rate, shipping may not be too bad once you factor in the tyre costs less overseas to begin with. I haven't used tirerack before but perused their website and they have a big range.

I have heard this threw a few shops like kmart and another but not all try bridgestone select cleveland

Tried Bridgestone select Ipswich, who rang the distribution centre, they confirmed the discontinuation, and confirmed none available in Queensland. I then did the ring around and found the only 4 in Australia are in Bendigo, at the Bridgestone store. The guy from the store was happy to sell me one, at a cost of $315 (I paid $265 fitted). They also have never used a courier company, and couldn't help me out from that angle at all. I had a ring around different courier companies, and with a store pick up and me picking up from their depot, the best price I could get was $80 because I don't have an account. Then to have it fitted and balanced was $10 from Bridgestone. So it was going to cost me $140 more than the other tyres, I just don't need it to be matching that badly.....

Despite this being an old thread, we must clarify that we discontinued the Dueler A/T 265/70R17 in RBT only, it is still available in the OWT pattern.

Hhmmmmmmmmm.........

At the time I posted this NO D697 was available in 265/70R17, this was confirmed by two different Bridgestone stores and Kmart.

You guys have since released the D697 in 265/70R17LT I understand, and I will most likely be replacing my non LT's with these when they wear out. There was a significant time when I couldn't buy any Bridgestone in 265/70R17. Then the new mud tyre was released, and now finally a A/T has been re-released.

Just a little confused why you would discontinue a tyre without a replacement already in place, especially a tyre that is the factory size for a common enough vehicle such as the FJ? I know at least two people who had to find a different tyre while you had none or just muddies available.

Anyway, I do really like the Bridgestone tyres, I guess that's why I was so disappointed at the time.......
