gday every one has anyone out there fitted 33's to there new prado, or tried to fit 16 inch wheels? i have ordered my 150 but just waiting for it. i want to get some 285/75r16 mickey thompson 4 rib atz's on 16 procomp wheels, as i would rather have more tyre than rim.

ok no one liked that question, so what are the biggest tyres that you have fitted to your prado 150 gxl? with or without being lifted

Being realstic in rim size, on the 120 you could fit 16 inch rims but it required attacking your brake calipers with a grinder. This will impact on insurance. I would suspect that you would have to do something similar if it is possible at all.

i have BFG ATs in 265/70R17 - they fit well and perform fantastic off and on road.

this is as big as you will get to fit under the tyre cover on the rear door, which the wife wanted to keep. i think i could do without it - but hey.. she let me spend the money so, i'll listen until a good enough reason comes up.

they don't scrub, bash, grind, or do anything else silly and i have NO suspension changes or lift at this stage.

i think their equivalent is about between a 31 and 32" - please correct me if i'm wrong.

          Hope that helps.

There are a lot of tyre discussions in the 120 and 90 series threads that are well worth a read.
