Recaro driver seat

I found used Recaro Style seat from ebay. Recaro don´t manufacture seat consoles for Land Cruiser J9, so I ordered König seat console and rails. I don´t know if König seats are much lower and wider, but the console was too high and too much left. I had to cut it peaces and weld it back 4.5 cm lower and 3 cm more right. Some other modifications was needed too. Overall, I like the result.

You're not kidding, it's so far left it's on the wrong side.

Looks good but the concern to me is the length of the front bolt in the seat frame, this has no vertical strength and could be an issue in an accident I would have thought.

It does look long. If it's the same as the normal recaro baseframes, they use internally threaded rod to make the frame sidebars, so what you are probably looking at is the rod, not the bolt itself. Really should have an engineer check over the mounting in any case.

That´s right, just like you told.

The console is tested in test laboratory and I have a document of it too, but the structure is not too strong. I made couple reinforcement to it, for example that triangular part behind front mounting point.
