Vent Grille Cleaning

Hi,
New to forum and new to purchasing a 2001 gx turbo Prado .It needed a bit of a clean up but when it came to cleaning out the grille on the bonnet just below windscreen I couldn't figure out how to do it ?Anyone out there have remedies?

I presume you are talking about the louvered cowl that sits between the windscreen and bonnet. I've had mine out a few times, from memory its held in by two bolts at either end, up towards the windscreen an a couple under the rubber seal closest to the bonnet. You also have to remove the wiper arms but once you undo everything it simply lifts off. You have to have the bonnet open during all this of course.

There are a couple of meshed covers that fit over the cabin air intakes, they clip off easily allowing you to clean any crap out. Simple job really.

I;ll have a go it this weekend.By looking at it there is a whole series of screws along the rubber seal in front where the rear of the bonnet closes down and two plastic escuetchons on either end.Do they have to be pulled off to gain access to mount screws and do I have to remove the seal at the bottom of the windsreen. Also do you have to take off all those screws holding the seal at the front
