Hi,
I'm wondering what the trick is to remove the diff breather caps, I'd like to install a breather extension hose from the rear diff to under the bonnet or into the body at the rear.
Do I need to unscrew the whole metal part or is there a way of removing just the cap without destroying it? I presume from there I can just fit my hose over the top (I presume it's a barb design of some kind).
If I need to remove the metal insert does anyone know what the replacement barb would be (with no cap obviously) - thread type and pitch would be great.
To remove the cap I've tried just pulling off by hand, I tried to unscrew it just in case but was sure the design wasnt a screw type, I've tried to it lever with a flat head screwdriver and I've tried gripping it with pliers. I must be missing something straight forward, any help would be appreciated.
Will do the front diff and the transfer case once I've worked out the rear diff....
Thanks,
Chris
