I thought you would like that pic, I would have used this one but I have 2 lockers so it didn't really highlight the point

We have to go back one day so you can get a proper shot of yours there Michael

Great info Andrew. This is also my understanding with centre diff locked (which it always is when heading for the serious stuff in the Prado, HL/LL). Been reading a bit on the Lokka, and the reports and reviews are very good and appear to be at least half the price of an installed E Locker or Air Leaker.........errr, Locker.

Thanks for the feedback Andrew, I will do the suspension upgrade methinks BEFORE the locker as this will allow me to get to know "The Pearl" and just what she can do!! before I take the step to the locker "upgrade".
            Thanks

Also I understand because it is a Grande with the height adjuster etc that a 2"lift is not so much of an advantage... is this true, as I intend to reset the front end with springs and shocks and do the pin alteration for the Bags on the rear?

The wonders of the Grande suspension are a bit above me, there are a number of threads on Grande suspension and what guys do. Probably best to ask those questions in the appropriate thread and the Grande Guru's will set you straight.

              Cheers Andrew

I recommend rear locker, because it adds to the strength of the solid rear axle. It can be used for entire climbs without being concerned about CV failures or steering.

A front locker will give you the most traction for your dollar (given you'll still have a rear LSD), but at the risk of CV failure and irregular steering.

It may also depend on what terrain you drive, and in your case, I'd still say rear.

Since I have both, I use rear most times, and add the front only in extreme situations (typically big rock steps).

Your dead right Andrew there are heaps of threads and I will start to focus up on them. Its important to me to get the right advice re the suspension - so many variations and opinions?

Well, I called 4WD Systems and apparently the Lokka is "not compatible" with the 90 series V6 manual. They were the only two words I could get out of the fellow

Don't think I can justify over $2000 installed for a rear E Locker either.

Only other thing I 'd be considering is how much longer do you intend to keep the vehicle? Worth throwing that locker into a 120 or even 150?

Same price over here in Sydney baders, give or take a hundred either way.... I'd go rear first as in my opinion the rear LSD in a Toyota is near to useless from the factory. There normally totally screwed by 40 thou and ready to be shimmed up again. ..... Cheers Steve

I gather that the auto lokka's aren't compatible with manual gearboxes for some reason. Pretty sure it's been discussed in other threads.

Is that when the gearbox is in the back end, like a 928 Porsche?
