Starter motor issues.

Hi Fellas. Just installed a 2nd N70 Battery in parallel on my KZJ95R (210,000 kms). All cables good and fat. Heaps of good earths. Heeello - starter motor just spun over and no turning of the engine. Prior to extra battery no prob's. Turned out the one way clutch on the drive pinion was on the way out and was slipping with the extra erg's available as a result of two batteries. Disconnect the 2nd battery and we are back in business. So - new one way clutch at $230-00 and do brushes/contacts/bearings is the fix. If you are caught out in the boonies and your starter motor gives grief, try disconnecting one battery - lower load on the clutch and it may pick up - could get you home. Cheers.
