"Open Door" Light Flashes Whilst Driving

Hey,

This problem came about while I was out at Robe the other week. As you drive and hit little holes in the road, the "open door" light on the dashboard and the interior lights flash. Obviously its trying to tell me that one of the doors are open, but when you close all the door upon getting in; there are no "open door" lights on. Possibly a busted door latch?

Ill check all the door latches tomorrow to see if any are loose, etc.

Has anyone experienced this problem before, or something similar?

Sounds to me like the light switch is ether broken or the plug has fallen off. All the light needs to work is a earth so if it's coming on intermittently as driving, it might be loose and flapping around in side the frame.

Where abouts in the vehicle is this plug located? Behind the dash or...?

The switch is the black rubber thing near the stricker of the door. U will find one won't turn the light on when the doors open. I would start with that one. Just pull the rubber boot off and unscrew the mounting screw. There should b a plug connected to this. If not u will have to start fishing in the door frame. Good luck!!!!

Had this problem just recently on my 97 Vx, turned out to be just the passenger front door striker plate had rattled loose and was letting the door shift slightly. mostly noticed it on right hand turns where the forces pulled at the passenger door.
I'd just go round the car with a torx head screwdriver and check the striker plates and locks.

This was my problem/solution as well. I probably should have replied to the thread with the solution, but things caught me up
