95 series radio upgrade to current model landcruiser

G'day all,

It's been ages since I've checked out prado point but I need your help.

I've just acquired the head unit from a 2014 GXL landcruiser doublecab [like the one http://assets.cougar.nineentertainme...C-STEERING.jpg]

Does anyone know how I would go about putting this in to replace the 2000 rv6 one I have at the moment? wiring changes? any gaps around the DIN housing?

the 90 series hole is a standard double din size off 180mmx100mm,

from the 120 prado onwards toyota made their audio units slightly wider than this at 200mmx100mm.

so that audio unit wont fit in the 90 series prado unless you cut the facia.

there will also be a wiring difference, in the 90 series the pins in the connectors are the big ones, in the new toyotas the pin size is way smaller, also te connectors are smaller, but same pinouts from old to new.

Thanks for the response.

so some plastic fabrication around the hole is required. Should i source an aftermarket harness for my vehicle model to modify to fit the new stereo?
