Hello, I bought my first car, a prado 90 from 2002, one owner with 320 000km. The battery of the remote was dead so I replaced it and noticed that the door lock on the drivers side door is not locking/unlocking. Not even when I try to lock the door with the lock button built in the interior door handle.
The first thing I thought was the actuator motor died. I replaced the little motor itself and verified it that the actuator worked. But apparently the connector/cable to the actuator does not give the right signal.
The 4pin connector should give a signal on the 2 middle pins when locking/unlocking the car. But it doesn't.
So then I wonder what it could be. Would there be a cable that has damaged isolation so the cable touches the body? Or would the power door lock controller be faulty? Does anybody know where this controller is located inside the car? I've searched online and under simple panels but haven't found it yet.
Thanks in advance!
