No High-beam indicator on dash

Hello all,
Some weeks ago I did install Xenon (HDI) on my 2000 95 V6 Prado.
After installing it, I did notice that the High-beam light on the dash does not work. The High-beam does work fine but only the light does not come one.
I thought maybe the bulb in the dash is broken, so today I took the dash apart. But the bulb is fine. I changed it with the handbrake bulb with the High-b bulb and there is no change. The handbr.light come on, but the high beam light still does not work.
So there must be something else be wrong. Anyone an idea? Is the car equipped with canbus?

Please share your thoughts..... about this subject, I do not want to know everything.... 8)

hi bors , i can sympathise with you , my handbrake simply refuses to go hi beam on the dashboard , in fact she won't even remove her shirt . she also say's my bulb has gone out and ive done my dash . not sure what that means but i think it's got something to do with the amount of beers ive consumed . ive tried canibus but that just dims my bulb even further . maybe rub her with some essential oils and a bottle of champagne that might bring on a highlight or two . :wink: ooh my glass is empty what were we talking about .

I guess, bulb also means something else than lightbulb or lamp..... :?

Hi, I was looking at ebay and this item has a really interesting reason for the high beam light not working.

So type in the item number and see how you read this guys spiel it may help

I think it will work.

The xenon is only connected with one headlight, and gets his power direct from the battery, not throug the normal circuits of the car.
I just tried what happens when I plug in a H4 into the not used leftside connector (the right side is the one, used by the xenon), and than the light on the dash works fine So there is no fault in the car.
The explenation with the product on E-bay, just says it all.

" id you have a H4 Bixenon Hi/Lo HID kit fitted into your car or 4WD, and found the blue high beam indicator in the instrument cluster does not come up when the headlight is switched to high beam? If so, you'll need this plug-in fix module.

Most H4 Bixenon Hi/Lo HID kits require power input from one side of the original headlight power supply only (to activate the relay). Therefore one of the original headlight power supply plug is left unconnected, and it causes the high beam indicator to not function properly . This problem is especially common in Toyota's due to their 'negative switched' headlight circuit design.

This plug-in fix module is designed to solve this problem easily. Simply plug it into that un-used original headlight power supply, and it's done, problem solved in less than 10 seconds. The blue high beam indicator in the instrument cluster will work again. A very small but important safety device"

Got a Ntech loadmodul from Newpro-tech today with the mail.
The seller on E-bay that passin''through mensioned would not ship to Europe. Newpro-tech does schip to Europe and the item solves the problem,

I've just done the hid conversion ans have same issue
Found a high beam indicator fix module on ebay, so glad I found this thread!

One issue I have, high beam doesn't seem as high as the halogens
How is yours?
It give me a little more light above usual line but nowhere near the amount of halogens

The bulbs have jackets on them, I can only assume.this is to stop the light reflecting more /dazzling drivers

Any thoughts on the high beam issue and how to solve?
