"Extra Vision Performance Globes" for Parking Lights?

Hey guys,

This thought came across to me whilst laying in bed last night. Seeing as I like to drive with my lights on ...would it be possible to install these - http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...163441#details or something similar as "driving lights" in my bullbar (Please refer to image below). The bulb would be installed in the small "parking lights" section. If these lights were installed also, would they become a yellowish colour due to the nature of the light plastic cover? The new Audi and Mercedes cars have these halogen driving lights and they look awesome, so it would make my car look extra-awesome

(My car , ps... I now have a UHF Ariel mounted on it)

Be a bit wary of that Calibre brand. IMHO I'd stick to well known light globe brands. i.e. Hella, Narva, IPF, Philips etc.

I think you will find the 55 watt halogen bulbs will not be a straight install plus the heat generated by them would probably be too great for the Park light lens.
Not to mention without a proper reflector/lens the 55 watt Halogen would create issues to oncoming traffic, probably be illegal (and obviously so)

If you want to have a brighter park light what about LED.
More likely to find a LED with a suitable base and a 3 watt LED would be far brighter than the 10 watt (I think) globe already fitted.

Hi Fellas. No doubt at all - the heat off a halogen lamp would totally nuke your light housing.(and it wouldn't take very long either) I have just brought a retrofit LED interior lamp from Repco which fits inside the original housing with a small bit of modifying. Good and bright but even these get pretty warm - so much for a LED's having a cold light. And BTW they are polarity sensitive as I discovered. Cheers.
