  • UniFilter retailers in NZ?

Hi guys, this is my first post. I must say that PradoPoint is a great forum, and I've found lots of useful info already.

Can anyone help me locate a UniFilter retailer in NZ, preferably Canterbury? The last one I got was from Delta 4WD in Chch, but they seem to have vanished?

    Cheers,

You can buy directly from Unifilter via their website.

      Re: UniFilter retailers in NZ?

My advice is not to fit any type of oiled foam filter. I had a Unifilter. Kept it cleaned and oiled on a regular basis. It was stored for a while while I used a K&N, which I still have. I recently had a check and the foam was disintergrating and crumbling away..

The lifespan of these filters is quite limited due to engine heat deteriorating the foam. The last thing you want is a piece to pass into the throttle body, injectors, etc. For the price they are not cost effective, and a pain to clean and re-oil. Wash in turps, takes hours to dry (or days depending on climate, then have to squeeze the oil through the outer foam sleeve...very messy.

The K&N, spray with the genuine detergent, rinse with water, let it dry and spray the oil on. Have had my cleraning kit for 4 years and still using it!

I would suggest you get a K&N or stay with a genuine Toyota filter as test have proven that they have signifanctly better airflow than a Unifilter.
