    Hi All
    I have a 02 turbo diesel 90 series which only has 147000ks on the clock Its a guzzler i change all filters every 5000k or 6mnths serviced injectors at 100,000 i have installed a rapid diesel chip but it was sucking fuel before that im lucky to get 800 to 900 ks out of both tanks it doesnt blow smoke only if i engage the chip which i can switch on or off. When 1st purchased new on 02 was getting around 1600 to both tanks i did notice a small difference when i fitted a snorkel.
    It has done many trips simpson desert arnheim land frazer etc i know tow a small caravan 7 consumption is the same towing or not
    is any1 out there have the same problem or any idea of a fix

      was thinking along those lines but at over the grand on average just wanted to see if there was a avenue i left untouched
      was going to disconnect the snorkel & check if that had anything to do with it but strange it doesnt belt out the black smoke

        I'm not the expert on it, but injectors you have done. The only other I have heard to cause such a big problem is the pump.
        Other things usually will only make a small difference.
        Have you plugged in & checked for fault codes?

          havnt checked for fault codes i have never had the check engine light come on either
          But its looking at the pump so now to find some1 in sydney whos good at their job i can replace the pump my self but cant overhaul it or is it worth hunting down a new one

            1600 k from both tanks ! Holly crap mine only ever gets 1000
            It's a ex mine engine running a 120 auto an ECU

              I'm lucky to see 1000km from both tanks around town & have never achieved 1600km from both on the open road, even when it was dead stock.
              Best consumption i've ever seen out of ours is 10.6ltrs per 100kms on the open road.
              It averages around 13.5 to 15 litres per 100kms around town.

              What accessories do you have fitted to it? Roof Basket? Bigger Tyres?

              How many litres are you putting in when you fill it up after 900kms?

                yep when i 1st got it liverpool to theme parks surfers on main tank only wish it was still like that now !!

                  Is 150k the timing belt change? Wonder if its slipped a tooth.

                  If it were me I would book it in for the timing belt change and get them to run a compression test and fit a new set of glow plugs in it.

                  This way you will know the timing is correct and what the compression is (and ruled out a glow plug tip damaging stuff.

                      Timing belt done all spot on double checked new tensioner fitted the only avenue is the pump pity thats the expensive part

                          I had an issue where I was sold the incorrect injectors for my '05 1kz it ran ok but blew more smoke. Did your fuel issues start around the same time your injectors were serviced? I would rather change them again than do the pump.

                            Try cleaning the line and little filter to the MAP sensor.

                              No it started before the injector service yeh a grand on a pumps a bit but drinking fuel on long trips just as bad
