hi guys
my engine will die at some point and i'm thinking of rebuilting it or replacing it. it seems to be a compression issue so might need new pistons or not

as i live in Cyprus and the parts are very expensive i was thinking if someone can make me a list of parts that most likely i will need and how much they cost in Australia? i have some relatives in Sydney so propably they will be able to send them to me

In Australia the cheapest option is to replace the engine with a Japanese low kilometre import engine, these can be had for between $2000-4000 Aus, but you usually get everything... turbo, alt, starter, pump etc.

A new long motor from Toyota is around $9000 Aus (block and head, no accessories but brand new)

Not sure on the price of a rebuild kit from Toyota Australia.

A good option for you may be to get the parts out of England, there is often a seller on EBay doing 1kz rebuild kits at very good prices.

cheersMick, i will give it a try. in cyprus i found a used engine @ 2500euros but have no idea what sort of miliage it has on the clock
