Usually that type of scenario says there is a problem with valve stem seals or guides.
You might possibly have a damaged or improperly fitted seal, or the seals could be the wrong part and are too loose.
The amount of oil being burned in this way is very small so it will seem like it's not consuming much.
A quick test is to just let the motor idle for a few minutes while warm, than give it a few good revs, you might see some smoke, it would be a fair bet that it's seals/guides.
One quick way to see which cylinder it could be is to remove the fuses that run the fuel pump & fuel injectors, crank the motor for about 30 secs, (this ensures the motor won't start, and no petrol gets injected to wash the cylinders)
Then remove the spark plugs, remember which cylinder each one came out of, you might be able to see if any have fresh wet oil on them. (doesn't always give a result but worth trying on a motor with 2 cylinder heads, might only have to remove one.

You say that compression test is good and no variation between the cylinders so that's a good sign the bottom end is OK so the main suspect is valve seals/guides.

having said that, I have seen where oil control rings have not been installed correctly, or have stuck themselves in the piston groove, but that's rare.
sorry to the bearer of the news and if I'm wrong apologies to the engine builder!

How many km had the prado done before the engine re-built?
