Help needed

Good day guys,

In planning our overland trip from the UK, EU and Africa we want to fit an aditional fuel tank to the 95 series Prado GX. Here in the UK they only come with the standard 90litre tank at the rear, but I believe most of the ones down there have the sub tank (left rear almost above the rear axle).

My dealer can order one in if I can supply the Chassis/VIN number of a vehicle fitted with a sub tank as standard... I know not everyone will feel comfortable to share this, but if you don't mind to send me a private message or if you can send me the Toyota part number, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a 95 series owner so i don't claim to be an expert... here is what I found

Personally, I would just go the replacement tank, less to muck about with and would be much cheaper, because, the sub tank needs its own fuel pump/sender unit, fuel gauge, fuel lines, you need to change the filler neck to the dual throat, then you need to do all the electrical work.
If you just put in the larger replacement tank, it is just a matter of removing the old tank, remove the fuel pump/sender unit, put it into th new tank, refit the tank, and fill it up, simple and less than 1/2 the price.
