Hi guys,
I placed this on LCOOL and had no response. I'm getting the car serviced (repaired) Friday and I'd like to discuss options, albeit as intelligently as possible with my mechanic the day before..... (d'oh) :?
Here's the story....
While travelling the Upper Turon last weekend, my front right wheel assembly rubber boot went into battle with a stick and came off second best. This is the second time its happened in the past 12 months (different tracks though)
I know that a possible solution to a lifetime remedy is "stay on the black top" however the chances of that happening are none and Buckley's. Another is "watch out for sticks" however sticks come a distant second when looking directly over an escarpment from the driver's window.
So, the question is...
Is there a fix to reduce the incidence of boot perforation? Are there any OEM replacements about which will cover the assembly and keep the grease in.
My wheel housing is now covered with multitude of grease dots ensuring that I won't get rust in that area That's a plus.
Thanks
Roger
NB Hiclones are coming out in the next service in an effort to improve power/efficiency and reduce possible damage to the turbo!!!
