Its cost about $10.000 2 ship one over with all the tax n paper work done. So that leves about $25,000 to 30,000 to spend on a buggy n you can get some great buggies for that which would be worth alot more then that here.
As for part its only three weeks at the max to get them shipped over. Had mail just from perth take that long befor. Anything we get from over east takes about the same amount of time as well.

Breakie time must go, the Roo.
When you walk away from crashers like that it makes you see that all your gear in the car needs to be tied down and why would you want to have feet up on the dash?

well its just in the pipeline/working out stage yet. put he think about but getting a cheap 90 from over east sometime at the start of the year. to drive aroung in and do some real ruler work to see if it will all come together. then it just start ordering the gear. the plan would be to get everthing together in the shed befor even starting the project. beacuse when we start it we will need the motor half in to see what to do with the front diff when its at bump. there is no point getting a realy good one when the plan is to bin most of it.

OK so my mate found a pto for his 80 tranfer case. which will be the base of the winch we will build. now we are working out how to build the winch. we know its a bit early for the winch but at some point its got to be realy to bolt up in the rig. any ideas on the winch would be great? was thinking about trying to use the half shaft on a prado diff as the free spool that way the drum will be free when ever we pull rope off and have a wheel hub and bearings as the carrier for the drum.
oh been looking hard at how to link up the diffs. looks like a single triangulated set up for the rear will be the go. looking at doing it the same way as a desert race truck with the coilover and shocks mounted on the lower link to get the most flex and help with wopps at high speed. will just do at 3link kit for the front. going to have to stretched the wheel base out alot more then we where hoping. the front has to go forward 100mm or so and the rear has to go back about 200mm. so it maybe to long and we may have to end up doing something different.

but then we would have to mount the prado body on to a nissan chassis man thats alot of work. we would most likely cut the chassis where it ends behind the cab and make a tube rear end up as it will be a ute after all. i dont see it being that logical to use a nissan chassis at all just alot more work then we need.

sweet you got that pto. good luck with the winch build.
not use a nissan chassis it would be way to much work. as you are planing to do all custom suspension and links just stay with the prado. with the kits that you can get from the US for the toyota diffs to go into a hilux and other chassis thats the way to go for sure.
