Hi all,
After fitting a new steering rack, refilling the power steering reservoir and bleeding it as per the Haynes manual, the pump now whines like a mother in law. Went round the block a few times, and although it was some what quieter, the whine was still there. On checking the oil level I found it to be quite foamy, which I believe is caused by cavitation. So apart from tweeking the lines to make sure no air is being sucked in, and bleeding the system with the lock to lock method, is there any thing else to do. Fluid is Castrol TQ-D111 (from memory, I'm not at home to confirm the exact name) and the manual states to use Dexron 11 or 111, which the Castrol is.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Brett
