Can't quite make that out, it's either the top of the EGR valve or; of you don't have a fly by wire throttle; it's the diaphragm actuator for the intake throttle plates (It will have two butterflys, a large one and a small one)
The part in your hand is the VSV (vacuum solenoid valve) for it.
Our domestic models have fly by wire on both the 90 and 120 series, but some grey (second hand) import Hilux Surfs and very early 90's don't

Is that an import ?? noticed the brake booster on the passengers side....That bit your holding should connect up to the vacuum then connect to the idle up valve (the silver thing in the picture) Also why is the heater tap hanging there like that ?? Should be bolted up the fire wall (well just above it into the plenum chamber) where those aother threaded holes are...Looks like some one has also put in that black cap there as a bleeder of some sort ??? .....Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. That's the actuator for the throttle plate/restrictor, not an idle up control. The 1KZ-TE idles up via the ECU.
