I was about to unbolt the third seats to take them out, when I remembered --- I could swear I read someone saying that the third seats could be lifted out in 10 seconds .. is that right? If so, how??

On mine, I found the cable from the seat release button/lever was too long (stretched or too long to start with) so the release mechanism would not work properly, hence following the handbook directions did not work. Unbolting does not take too long anyway.2019 Prado GXL 2.8L Diesel

1998(?) ? Easy removable 3rd row seats
The early Prados had "fixed" 3rd row seats, the latter had removable.

Rear Seat Removal
I have 97 Grande and the only way to remove them is to unbolt them which I have done. GXL etc can just be unclipped. Must be because the grande's have rear air Toyota decided that the seats would never be removed, probably saved a dollar on the locking setup. SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. No mods yet
